Rabbits' nest is empty now. Either Mrs Rabbit moved them, or she ate them.

I left a big fat strawberry out in the garden by way of apology.

I didn't know Rabbits ate their own young.

Maybe something like a fox or a raccoon ate them.

Cannibal rabbits is not an idea I can get my head around just now.

Sorry. Sorry. Some animals will do that, because they're really sucky moms, or because something has hugely upset or frightened them. It's incredibly gross, but in its horrible way, preferable to a litter of tiny blind babies freezing or starving. But she could just as easily have moved them to a safer spot, so don't assume the worst. There's no shortage of potential nesting places in the garden.

You could end up with infinitely recursive rabbits. Mmmm...tender.

Yup, almost any rodents will, under stress. Hamsters, rats...

That sort of describes our move in January (we were served with "get out NOW or else" papers 3 days before Christmas by the building's evil new owners.)
