I'm still waffling between 'midnight party' and pick up at 10 a.m. tomorrow, but I suspect it'll be the latter.

Every time you make an HP comment, it makes me feel as if I MUST make an HP icon.

There wasn't a 'go get it at midnight but screw those friggin' parties' option, so I just voted for parties anyways.

Is there a midnight thing around these parts?

B&N had one. The bookstore at Gateway opened at 7:00 a.m. Saturday.

I picked 'get it this week', but really I'll have it in my house when I wake up tomorrow morning (no midnight nothing for me, but the mister isn't as lazy obsessed with the SciFi Channel as I am). When I get to actually read it is anyone's guess.

Picked "midnight parties" which is really "'disappear' ten-year-olds at WalMart at midnight to get my copy." Screw parties, just gimme gimme gimme!

I kinda forgot to pre-order the book. I'll see if Borders has a copy tomorrow.

My reaction is a big "meh"...I'm purposely lowering my expectations.

Bookshop party. Of course, I was one of the bookshop workers, so I don't know if that counts in the poll.

I saw the books before midnight! I pulled the skid out from the stock room! There was a label on it saying "Please comply with the international embargo signed by your head office and do not open these boxes or offer this product for sale until 12:01 AM on Saturday July 16"
From: [identity profile] theredwitch.livejournal.com
Yes. And I had to make a slightly illegal hole in shrink-wrap to do so. Don't tell anyone.

Hell, I'm third in line, depending on who gets it first--daughter or mother-in-law.

But that's okay. I fortified myself for the weekend with Going Postal and Skinny Dip.

I got mine last night, stayed up as late as I could reading, crashed for a few hours, got up, finished it.
