Mom's Christmas present will be a DVD/VCR combo, since the world is ignoring her wishes and no longer offers tapes for rent or purchase. Well, none worth having. This will also give her access to my DVD collection, so that she can fall asleep to episodes of The Lone Gunmen that she's seen once, instead of Law and Orders she's seen 20 times.

So as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. The rest of Christmas can blow me.

Snow here, complete with painful ass-falling-on, rescue shovelers, invisible road stripes, et al. As happens every year. I'm afraid the cold is making me rather cranky...er. More crankified.

Today was our annual office holiday lunch. We went to someplace called the Macaroni Grill. They cover their tablecloths with white paper, and give you crayons, so I was all set. I drew the Superman family. You'd be surprised at how many people have never heard of Beppo the Super-Monkey. Or perhaps you wouldn't.

What!! You're kidding me! He was always my favourite of the Super Pets. That lovable scamp.

It was hardly wasted -- it soaked up the tomato sauce good and proper!

So what ones are you looking at? We're thinking of getting one too.

Saw Trevor in the new "Waking the Dead" last night and I realized--holy crap, 20 years since Shadow Chasers.

*boggles*

Some cheapo brand from Target (Phillips? Memorex?), around $80. (Best Buy has them, but in case you need to return it, they make you either buy this stupid returning insurance, or you have to take a cut on the price for daring to open the box. Screw that.) I could just get her a DVD player for, like, $5, but it would mean a power strip and a little magic splitter box and God knows what, so I just want something that plugs in where the old VCP is.

I saw a few minutes of the Trevor! Is it just me, or has somebody gotten a tuck?

I hear WalMart is offering those as a prize for winning their gladiatorial games. Go for the eyes, it's a guaranteed tactic to snag whatever your opponent is holding.

Oooh, Macaroni Grill! I'm so jealous! I love that place. Love the food, love the crayons/paper. :-)

I'm sorry about the snow and ass-falling-on. :-(

Was told on the sly at pt-time job today that we are all going to be "let go," but it was the supervisor who sneaked this news to us after the boss high-tailed his cowardly butt outta there without a word to anyone. We get the official word on Thursday.

Incompetent boss who lost us all of our clients will, of course, keep his job.

Aw, fudgenuts, I'm sorry.

"Let go" sounds like you're all being sent to live on a farm, where you'll have lots of other employees to play with and can chase rabbits all day.

BBCA shows that sometimes, though so far never when we're home and/or awake. She's making noises about watching Lost now, after she spurned it as way too scary for her. Just as she did X-Files, Millennium, American Gothic, etc. Hee.
