Hm. Reminds me a bit of the Gir dollies I got for my nephews for Xmas (although they weren't plushies. They did have plushy doggy disguises, tho). I haven't see the real thing, but the plushy you linked to looks pretty nifty. I have nothing to compare with, obviously. And I know you -- you'll love the agony of coming up with what you need to make your own, so go for it. Yours will obviously be better; that goes without saying.

I found a bunch of corro...courriga...that cardboard with the ridges in a paper sample book, and rolled it up. It's got a cardboard core.
