I've taken a ton of pictures of her, but this is the first I actively like. This is because, as a photographer, I make an excellent secretary.

Her Mandarin coat is a slightly-reworked wine bottle jacket, currently available in the dollar section of Target in both black and red. I don't know why wine bottles need jackets, or why they would be made with functioning frog closures, but I'm sure there's an excellent and sensible reason.

No, there isn't.

Dude, do those jackets actually open? I thought I'd have to do some cutting and stuff.

They're stitched up the front, and the braid goes all the way around the bottom. You have to cut the braid (you'll want to overstitch the cuts, or use Fray-Check or something), and snip the stitches holding the front together. But they made the stitches big, so that's no chore. The frogs already work, but they're held on with hot glue, so I stitched them down, 'cause, ick.

She's preeeeeeeeetty. I like her hair. Did you cut it yourself, or did it come like that?

It's a wig. She also has the same in black, a soft red one that's slightly longer, and a startling, knee-length, lime green number.

Ooooh.

Jackets I can understand -- sometimes you need to tweak with wine temperature faster than letting it warm up or cool down to environmental temperature will allow. Frog closures, that I can't help with.

I'd been thinking those wine jackets wood make fine stuffed koala apparel.
