"we made it to Germanz" -- subject header of e-mail from sleep-deprived travelers who've just arrived in Berlin. They're in Germanz, buying ur suveneerz.

Fighting off some sort of bug. Food poisoning? Death flu? Symptoms: falling over a lot and forgetting ends of

Watching The Book of Daniel on DVD. Haven't got to the unaired episodes yet. Love when Daniel and Imaginary Jesus get in girly slapfights. "You should tell your dad that your son is gay." "Why don't you tell him? That way, if he has a stroke, hey, you're right there!"

Successfully sewed Gothic Lolita kimono pattern from Haute Doll for, you guessed it, doll. Am puzzled by this, since according to the DoA boards, the printed pattern is fucked up and won't fit anybody.

Made blueberry pie for today's office food day. I fail at pie.

Reading The Moonstone. Fab. Also pleased at having regained sufficient concentration to read something besides manga and histories of fashion.

Slowly going mad from blizzards, extra national holidays, and their effect on postal delivery, bookshop re-stocking, etc.

Christmas surprisingly not sucky.

Actually managed to complete picture for [livejournal.com profile] spn_color, the Supernatural online coloring book. Fortunately, other entries are better than mine. Yay.

One of the classic movie channels ran It's Trad, Dad, featuring The Temperance Seven in performance, directed by Richard Lester. Am now carrying movie's child. Note to self: phone Pope.

Stangel says that the alllmost Germans have regular QWERTY-keyboards, except they're really QWERTZ, because Y and Z have changed places, because Z is such a common character in German. They also have Ü Ä Ö where we have Å Ä Ö.

When you upload pics, do you have to resize them? If so, how do you do it? I've got a number of pics I want to share.

FYI, and just to make ALL our lives miserable, the Y and Z keys on German keyboards are reversed; they have a QUERTZ keyboard, damn them all. They also have the upper-case punctuation stuff and a few punctuation marks in different places (I don't think the ;: key and the '" key are where they "belong" and you know what? Typing like that SUCKS!!! What I finally did was type maniacally, search-replace on EVERY Z, change to @, change every Y to Z, then change ever @ to Y. Dood. PITA.

You can get used to it, but the apostophe as a shift+# sucks donkey dick, especially since so many of my idiot students then use the acute or grave accents as substitutes. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
