Do you have DVD on your computer? If it's not region-free, I *think* I still have the (free) program here that made mine region-free. (I'm assuming you've used up your "switching region" allottment.)
Sympathies. Depending on the model of your existing DVD player, you may be able to hack it. That's what I did with mine when I was desperate to see my SOTD R2 disc.
I spent much of Friday evening trying the various posted hacks for my player. Sadly it was manufactured too late, and that particular bit of code had been taken away, or hidden, or whatever they do with it. Older versions are eminently hackable.
