I'm no help either. I have a copy of the book on my "to read" pile thanks to my last major 1/2 Price Books visit. It looks good.
Not that this is any help to you, but I just finished the Doctor Who novel "Stealer of Dreams" and thought that the writer took a perfectly good idea and managed to turn it into mediocrity. By the time I reached the end I didn't care about the not so surprising "surprise" twist.
I wish I could help you, but that book's been looking at me and I don't know whether to read it either. It looks pretty good, but then I think fairy tales for adults makes me want to claw my eyes out, and adults think it's good because they don't know any better.
