Years ago, [livejournal.com profile] cocoajava and I began the tradition of Paperweight Duty. It's in celebration of the poor sap who has to answer the phones in the office while everyone else is off burning mandatory vacation time. Most years, that sap is us, and we strive mightily to keep each other entertained.

Thanks to the President giving us the 24th off, this year, PAPERWEIGHT DUTY DAY will be celebrated on December 21. But you can do it on the 24th if they make you come in then. Want your own official Paperweight Duty banner? You can haz!

Shamefully OT: Your present arrived! :-D We spent all of last night mainlining Darkplace and walking around going, "Thank God I only took a tiny sip!"

:D :D :D That makes me so totally happy. "You and he were buddies, weren't you?"

I had to make myself not watch for a while. The theme tune has gone all earwormy. "Darkplace Darkplace Darkplace Dark..."

Do watch the commentaries. I know you generally don't like them, but they do them in character, on Garth's sofa. "You guys. Seriously. Pam is in the house, tone it down!"

I'm glad it's not just me who has "Darkplace, DARKPLACE, DARKPLACE, DARKPLACE..." hopelessly earwormed. (And I actually really like in-character commentaries, they were a great highlight of the Spinal Tap DVD: "She's dead.")

My hope for Fuzz 3.0 was that the 'secret guest commentary' would be Nicholas and Danny. "You broke the fence? You never said you broke the fence! Oh dear Christ." "What? It were in the line of duty."

Why don't we have Darkplace icons, dammit?

It's the festive scent of ductwork that hasn't been cleaned since 1971.

My Paperweight Duty Day will be the 25th this year. I'm looking forward to many hours of trying to stay awake. Or maybe not bothering to stay awake.

Then again, it might be really busy. Thanksgiving was.

I will definitely be borrowing an icon! :-) I'll take one with extra cussin', thanks!
