I watched it a while ago with my mom, who likes mythology but is by no means a scholar on it, and even SHE could point out lots of things that were wrong. It was hilarious.

I could not sit through it. That's saying something. I just got the feeling that the creators were sitting there, "Let's make it EPIC MYTH! But REALISTIC! With lots of crazy MYTHIC super powers but all done like it's FOR REAL!" Hunh.

I hate people who talk in movie theaters, but I couldn't stop snarking out loud during this one. It drove me to break my own movie rule. Damn you, stinky movie.

My 'favorite' moment (spoiler alert!) is Odysseus's realization that he should have the army build a big wooden horse. He actually scratches his chin and seems to go, "hmmmmmm...."

If I recall correctly, it's in a crowd scene near the beginning of the movie. It's like a secret signal to the audience: Yes, llamas in Troy. This is the level of historical and literary accuracy you can expect from this film. (I've seen an icon somewhere on LJ or JF of the llama, with the caption "Newsflash! Ancient trade with the New World confirmed!")
