Went home at lunchtime and rescued Shaun and Ed from the porch.

Opened the box. Got the two separate shipping cartons inside the box open. Opened the shipping cartons and removed Shaun and Ed's individual boxes. Took bubble wrap off individual boxes. Opened individual boxes. Cut scotch tape holding plastic trays which held the figures inside the individual boxes. Got plastic trays open. Started undoing a couple of Ed's twist ties. Then lunch was over and I had to go back to work.

I feel your pain. Also, remember the days when you could open a bag of Cheezits or chips or cereal without a scissors, or without that horrible plastic *finally* giving way, but requiring such force and effort that the contents shoot up out of the bag and spill all over? Don't even get me started on CD/DVD packaging.

I keep scissors and box cutters in a rack in the kitchen.

Well, crap. Don't know if it's any comfort, but I found their explanation for the delay (from this past February).

"I must package this plastic toy figure! But what if the toy contains some kind of highly volatile chemical explosive?! Who could tell?? I'd better make sure it's kept completely immobile during transit... and what if there's an earthquake?! I'd better add three more layers of plastic, just in case!"

You took them out of the box?!? But... but that means you've ruined their collectibility! HOW COULD YOU? Now they'll never be "vintage"!

They'll be vintage. They'll just never be NRFB. If I put them back in, they'll be MINMB. Unless I spill juice on them, in which case they'll be "GREAT LOT FOR CUSTOMIZERS!"
