I'm feeling perfectly foul and panic-attacky, so here's everyone's favorite LJ cliché photo post, the book and video shelves! Yayayayay! *Kermit flail*

Apologies for the yellowing and blurriness.

Hello, Elrond. Hello, Little Book of Calm. Hello, Raisin Bran Sun.

The appalling pink and yellow thing is a homemade box for Noir. Boogiepop Phantom, over on the right, has one, too, but it's facing inside. If you have any of those old Windows manual slipcases, they're great for slicing down with an X-Acto knife (be careful!) and painting with acrylic, as you would any canvas.

The Region 1 Randall and Hopkirk box set tanked so badly that we probably won't see Volume 2 any time soon, or ever. But at least I can throw away my audio cassettes from the 1970s. Note to self: Try to actually watch Some Like It Hot one day.

I haven't seen Some Like It Hot for years, but I really enjoyed it when I saw it in high school.

I've got to take another picture of my knitting tonight....

Flash Gordon, yay!

Is the Call of Cthulhu movie any good? Is it at all Lovecraftian, or does it just have the name?

Call of Cthulu is, I swear to God, a silent movie, in black-and-white, and it's made of awesome.

It's worth having for the making-of alone, which is fascinating (the real-life color stuff looks like crap, but turns amazing when turned into b&w) and hilarious (an Arkham mental patient's ramblings, with the sound on, are about how he went out to get some lunch and just wanted a damn packet of SUN CHIPS). You can get it off Amazon, and mine came from Best Buy.

I'm delighted to see Hot Fuzz, Bon Cop Bad Cop and The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. huddled together on the same shelf. It makes me imagine the most cracktastic crossover.

Now that you mention it, Brisco and Danny wear similar hats...

Danny is a huge Brisco fan, I'm sure of it. He's got the entire Bruce Campbell oeuvre on DVD, and possibly even owns both of his books.

I have to find out if Brisco actually ran in the UK.

I hope so, it sounds like a lot of fun. Cruise of the Gods, I mean. And Some Like It Hot if we're economical and squeeze the time in.

I just got a Monty Python Sir Robin off eBay. Exact same scale as Rondo, looks fantastic with him (I bet Arthur would look even better). He cowers behind his shield, while Elrond looks disgusted.
