Oh my...an eBay dealer I paid on the 15th of October is suddenly trying to hit me up for $3.00 shipping - when her shipping charge was posted quite clearly on the item listing. Uh, no. Tacking on charges is a big eBay no-no.

Alternated between the Cirque du Soleil on Bravo and the fetus episode of Nova. Cirque show was Dralion, so I got to see Susan's fave, the Naked Guy With Balls. The nice thing is, when he's tired of the Cirque, he's guaranteed a steady gig at the Mineshaft for as long as he likes. Fetus Nova was strangely upsetting, probably because it was narrated by John Lithgow, and there are some people from whom you really don't ever want to hear the phrase, "mucus plug."

I am now able to open the car bonnet All By Myself and add whatever that fluid is. Not oil, something else that judging by the smell might as well be oil, but apparently it matters to the car. Also it goes in a place where, I'm told, actual oil shouldn't really go, because it will make the car cry.

Also got gas. There's something very odd about pumping gas at night, in a big square of white light. It's not quite lonely, really. It's a little moment of formal composition imposed on ordinary life, kind of like for a few minutes you're in Nighthawks. The Edward Hopper painting, not the movie. Being in the movie would suck.

I'm assuming, of course, that in the painting, the diner doesn't smell bad and the jukebox isn't at eardrum-busting volume and the guy in the hat isn't in fact preparing to rob the diner at knifepoint.

I seem to have strayed off my original point a bit. Oh dear.

Ooo! I KNEW there was a reason I wanted to tape that...right after the Making Of special I snagged months ago. With Alex Trebek trying very hard to prove how very, very Canadian he is every time he says "DRAleeOHN!" like a complete ponce. Chee.
