Removed picture of Charles Foster Dad from wall. Emptied and moved old bookcase. Bits of new bookcase unpacked and counted. Screwdriver charging. Hammer assortment found. Cannot actually move around in living room. Slight possibility of rotary cuff injury (unrelated).

Happily, at work, there is cheesecake.

When we were moving in to the new place, I was thinking about how best to set up the bricks-and-boards bookshelves that hold all my paperbacks when I suddenly realized Wait. This is my house. We're not renting any more. I can attach the shelves directly to the wall if I want! And then they can't fall down and kill me! And I will have a place for ALL THE THINGS, where THINGS = books.

What I'm saying is, shelves. They are a good thing. Furniture-assembly powers ACTIVATE!

There will never be a place for ALL THE THINGS.

Not until my sister comes and gets the giant trunk and the fucking grandfather clock. And I wish she'd take Charles Foster Dad.

I was about to ask if you're moving or something, but then I got my research on and realized these are just the consequences of buying milk.

But the really important question is:

How are you going to organize your books?

The heavy ones go on the bottom shelf, for stability.
