All pay-what-you-want stresses me out even more than fixed prices that are too high for me and even if it's just waffles at a fair or something like that. And I haven't seen Good Omens yet. But I really love her style and I might actually get the BANANA sketchbook just to see more of it.
I went for five bucks, the price of a loss leader music label sampler download or a similarly sized Humble Book Bundle tier, because I am cheap.
After umpty years of hoping nobody would ever get it together to make Good Omens, I am so pleased with the series that I could pull fresh! hot! cookies! out of my ears. So glad Gilliam never got hold of it.
Here I'm still valiantly trying to watch Supergirl halfway through the second season, but it's getting so difficult to stay awake, or care. So I guess there's a free spot for Good Omens in the making. Problem is I was only mildly amused by the book? Then again I really learned to enjoy Tennant as one of the great overactors of our time, so I'm looking forward to that.
I'm a great fan of the book, because I had spent about ten years surrounded by super crazy American fundamentalist Christians. The kind of people who think Jack Chick tracts are good readin'. But Neil Gaiman's screenplay ads a bunch of new stuff and switches things around to make more sense, so I'm happy.
Tennant totally brings his A game as Crowley, but Michael Sheen's Aziraphale quietly walks off with the show. And you get Michael McKean, Miranda Richardson, and John Hamm in supporting roles. Hamm's Gabriel goes from being annoying upper management to terrifying black ops commander and is generally great.
Beelzebub has an amazing hat that is a giant live housefly, and I kind of love her.
