Amazon.com has just started offering the LOTR DVD for pre-purchase.

Note to self: obtain DVD player at some point.

You must have some freako DVD, then... three remotes? Huh? They're very easy to use, I think. I mean, you can't zoom in on images on a VCR, for one, or choose multiple crazy angles (well, these features also depend on the disc), or watch Joe Versus the Volcano in Japanese with Portuguese subtitles...

I assume Britt's is NTSC, and so possibly a bit wacky.

I'm told the complication level and cost have dropped considerably in the last year or so. As usual, my main problem will be The Goddamn Cable Box.
