Greatest American Hero, The - Believe it or not, we've got a release date! I'm walking on air!

We know that a large number of our readers have been anxiously awaiting the street date for The Greatest American Hero - Season 1 on DVD. We've been waiting along with you, and it was one of you - reader "Frank S." - who found the info and brought it to our attention. Thanks, Frank!

Online e-tailer DVDPlanet.com has set up this pre-order listing for the long-anticipated box set. The release date shown is February 8, 2005. List price is shown to be a mere $29.95 for a 3-DVD set, and DVDPlanet will sell it to you right now at a 30% discount (that's $20.97) if you pre-order it immediately.

No further details are available just yet, because Anchor Bay hasn't circulated their release announcement so far. Once that' s sent to us we'll bring you info about specs, extras (it's supposed to be chock-full of them!) and of course the cover art. Stay tuned!

I am looking at teddy bears on eBay because there's fuck-all to do. It's very strange to click on a link and see a familiar face. "Holy shit! Gervaise, what are you doing there? And with that horrible ribbon? Where's your fez?" Then I remember, right, there are only about 50,000 of them out there.

Our polling place moved from the Slightly Depressing Methodist Church to the Old Peoples Home. The OPH is really quite nice. They've just tarted the place up, and the polling station was in a HUGE ballroom with a rather amazing drop ceiling. You could look up between the bits of ceiling and see the mysterious ductwork even higher up. It looked neater than it sounds.

The OPH's band was rehearsing in another room, so as we walked in, we could hear them struggling through "This Is My Country." It was as though the Temperance Seven were playing off in the back. Very keen.

And we got stickers.
