The boy is his daddy's son. If the kid dies-Compassionate Conservative my ass. I love how the Republicans are always saying "Less Government Interference!" and yet pulling this shit. Apparently, the LGI concept only applies to resource extraction and labor issues. Also noticed the anti-gay tie-in. Most school who deny the military access do so because of its anti-gay discrimination, so basically they've found a way to financially punish any public school that stands up for gay rights.
Okay, I hate to do this, except that I don't because I sorta enjoy being confrontational, but at least in SF the gay discrimination issue is a screen for rampant dirty hippie-ism. They're not denying the military access because the military discriminates against gay people; they're just gleeful that they found a politically unassailable excuse to not let 'em on campus. If all the Joint Chiefs of Staff come out of the closet tomorrow, SF Unified isn't going to call up the recruiting offices and say COME ON DOWN.
I'll have to take you word for that, being that I know nothing about SF local politics. However, I know that is not the case for the Portland School District (my hometown), and I would suspect this is not the case for other school districts that enacted similar bans.
