Watching Taken.

Yup, it's a Spielberg show all right. In fact, it's remarkably like an episode of Amazing Stories that never, ever ends. End! END! ENNNNNNNNNNNNND!!!

My sister asked me yesterday if I had been watching it. I told her, yes and that clearly the writers hadn't met a cliche they didn't like. Then she asked if it was really going to go on for 2 hours every night for two weeks. Yes, sis, every excrutiating minute.

I think it's pretty telling that after watching six hours of it I couldn't remember a single character's name.

Um...I know this...one of them's called...MARTY! He got transferred to Iceland.

I do like the CGI aliens, though. And last night's squirrel.

That damn squirrel scared me. Oo I'm just wondering what horror's tomorrow's episode is going to bring. *ph33r* And I can't remember the character's names either. *shrug*

There's somebody called Eric. And several people called "Mom."

Well, that clears it up.

And there's that Major fellow...Maj Stick-Up-His-Butt.

My summary of the series "Taken."

One, Maj. Stick-Up-His-Butt, begats Maj. Stick-Up-His-Butt Jr., there are lots of explosions, not so kinky fake sex, rather cheesy special effects, many people getting transfered to Iceland, and several people called "Mom."

... And there's aliens too.

That may have been the best part so far.

I hate to point out the obvious, but... why do you people continue to watch this thing?

Well, sometimes an American mini-series can be entertaining for its sheer badness (e.g., Rose Red). It's also one of the few things on at the moment that isn't a repeat.

Still, I've given it two-and-a-half hours, about 12% of its total running time, and that's more than enough.

It's like roadkill - you keep wanting to poke at it with a stick.

Ohhhhh, roadkill. OK, I understand roadkill.
