Competent comedy piece about movie sequel titles - until you get to Solaris down at the bottom.

Odd crafts quote of the day:

"...now you can embellish any journal by simply making a hole in the cover of your book and then screwing this antiqued lion's head on."

--volcanobookarts.com pimps their new brass doorknocker.

Watching Taken.

Yup, it's a Spielberg show all right. In fact, it's remarkably like an episode of Amazing Stories that never, ever ends. End! END! ENNNNNNNNNNNNND!!!

oh my.

Odd moment while watching the news tonight. Part of the story was a girl of three or four going to pre-school, completely crushed when her dad dropped her off and drove away in his truck.

Mom: "Poor thing. She looks like he's leaving her alone forever instead of just for the day."

Me: "Well, y'know, when you're that age, you say bye to Dad and for all you know you're never gonna see him again."

::Very very long uncomfortable pause as we both realize that that's exactly what happened to me.::

Me (brightly): "So! This is good macaroni."

God, it's a less interesting (who'd have thought such a thing possible) version of Dark Skies, with tatty music and the sort of pacing that made Quintet such a memorable film.

I would rather be watching Stargate, and that's saying something.
