God, it's a less interesting (who'd have thought such a thing possible) version of Dark Skies, with tatty music and the sort of pacing that made Quintet such a memorable film.

I would rather be watching Stargate, and that's saying something.

Ah, but here's the true test: would you rather be watching Sentinel?

Apart from Sentinel lacking keen CGI aliens (as far as I know; my experience is limited), I can't honestly say that I can summon any feeling one way or another. Taken has that soul-destroying train-wreck quality, but Sentinel's stodgy mediocrity and B-Squad dialogue make it so very, very MSTable.

I swear to god the episode I saw was a combination of "The Lost Diablo" from Greatest American Hero and a couple of episodes of The A-Team. And not good episodes.

Why does this not surprise me. Oh, yeah, I've seen Sentinel.

I made it through the first 3 days but tonight I decided I'd rather sleep than watch. I don't feel worse for the wear. ;) I was trying to figure out just WHERE the writers were going with it and then I realised...to Hell in a hand basket!

So glad to hear you say this; I thought it was just me. It's not that it's *bad* per se, it's just so frigging sloooooow. 20 hours? Methinks they could have done it in five.

Agreed, it didn't need to be so long, though overall I've kind of enjoyed it. Wonder how the ratings have been.

Oh, I could see 60 years of bizarro American folklore fitting well into a 20-hour series. It could've been really funny and scary and entertaining and sly. Instead, it's tedious and lumbering and mediocre in every respect.

I hope Spielberg never does any Mark Twain. He'll turn it into a Hallmark card.

I finally blew it off last night because I'd rather watch my current favorite blood-n-guts stand-by, CSI. Gil's mah man.

From what I've heard, Taken has been getting the best ratings for any show Scfi has aired. Why, I don't know.

Go. Watch Firefly instead. Especially if you've got a Nielsen box. Or just tune it in if you do, Lord we need the ratings to keep it on the air.

Tonight, 8 Eastern, FOX.

Thank you.

Mac
