Stayed home Friday afternoon with Mom, who was all coughy from the Pancake Death Cloud (she's fine).

Saturday went to a rubber stamp convention. No I'm not high. It was at the Lancaster County Events Center, which is basically a giant animal shed out on the highway. It was just like an SF convention, but with...yeah. Compere had to consult her notes every time she read an announcement: "Good morning...Lincoln...Nebraska!" Stamping housewives in a dealers room are as vicious as SF fans, but they do smell better. Lots of dealers, with designs from the deeply weird to the Bible-reading teddy bears. No points for guessing which dealers I frequented the most. Also, lots and lots of unmounted stamps for tiny amounts of money. Yayness. Lasted about two hours before the hot dog smell drove me out.

Ooo! I wish I had known you were going. I would have asked you to look for some stuff for me. My favorite rubberstamp company, Stampa Rosa/Tin Can Mail went out of business in January and the only way to get their stamps now is from dealers stock.

*sigh*

I hope you post images of your ill-gotten gains.

Stampa Rosa's gone??? AIEEE!

My local shop has some of their stuff in stock. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll grab it if they have it.

I got you some teeny unmounts.

Apparently they went out of business very suddenly. The owner of Eccentricities said they had their usual specials in December. In January, they faxed every dealer saying that they were going out of business and would fill orders with remaining stock.

If your local shop has any of the travel logo stamps or the one of "Mysterious Dr Destiny", I would love to have them. I'm also looking for the one of The Studio magazine cover.

I got you some teeny unmounts.

Ooooo! Cool!

I know they don't have Mysterious Doctor Destiny (dammit, it sounds cool) or The Studio cover, 'cause I would've grabbed 'em. What do the travel logo stamps look like? They've got a whole travel shelf now.

Mysterious Doctor Destiny (dammit, it sounds cool)

Late last year they put out a whole slew of new designs - but they went out of business before I got to see them all, let alone order any. I did get the Fortune Teller Card and Luna tarot card before they went poof. "Mysterious Doctor Destiny" looked a bit like a sideshow flier. It was cool.

The travel logo stamps look like the old travel decals they used to slap on luggage. They also had a stamp for "Cafe du Monde". *sigh*

So far, of all their lines, only the cutesy Mouse House designs have been picked up by another company. Yes, the one line you and I would never buy on a bet. You should try to pick up for yourself some of the Fresco stamp pads they made, if you can find any. The ink has a cool chalk-like finish.

And I bet some of them are Bible-reading mice.

You like the rubber stamps? I like the rubber stamps, too!!! I have a smallish collection of fine stampage from Inkadinkadoo; when I was in high school, the stamp love was kind of at the peak (I got to meet the lady who started Inkadinkadoo at a Girl Scout Let's-Empower-High-School-Girls-To-Do-Stuff event). But conventions? I knew no such thing! Cool!

Oh, man, I used to mail order from them years ago. They're keen.

Also like to carve the stampses.

Housewives that stamp, or that like stamps? ;)
You frequented the drug dealers most?

I am inane, yet lame today.
