Me being the news media-avoiding person that I am, I have no clue what's up. Did Mel do something really stupid and asshat-y recently?

Plus he's just generally creepy and homophobic and makes movies where he shoots 300 people and we're supposed to cheer.

Huh. Is the "mob scene" that's referred to in the article the one where Pilate asks the audience to choose between Jesus and Barabas? (I think it was Barabas.) If so, I'm not sure how one could turn that into something bloody. If not, I have no clue what they're referring to since it's been years since I had to look at a bible. Unless they're talking about the actual crucifixion?

I'm still a little befuddled since I haven't watched any movies Mel made since Lethal Weapon 3. Even then my best friend had to drag me to see it since I wasn't interested. Still, homophobia is a definite turn-off.

I knew this movie was going to be a bad idea when I heard it was going to be in Aramaic and Latin with no subtitles. Okay, everybody who knows Aramaic and Latin enough to follow a conversation, please raise your hand.

Yup, 'cause that William Shatner movie that was entirely in Esperanto was such a big hit. And at least that one wasn't religious. *eye roll*

"good" being subjective of course, but you know what I mean.

do you think Mel could stand some company? maybe Tim LaHaye could tell him some stories or something.
