Would $20-25 be considered expensive for a plushie around 8" tall? Although this was around 3-4 years ago, so who knows how much the things cost now...

I suppose it depends on what kind of plushie. If it's an off-the-shelf one, that's pretty high-end. If it's a commission, it's cheap. If it's something on the secondary market, it depends on the item and what it's worth to you.
