"I'm going to pay you back for this!"

A couple of weeks ago, Target had LOTR action figures for $3.something. I snagged an Eowyn in armor and a super-poseable Gollum. The Gollum has magnetic feet and is really quite horrible.

I put him in the icebox, clinging to the neck of Mom's 2% milk.

She hid him in a baggie of fresh chocolate-chip cookies.

I put him in the butter dish.

He's been resting for most of the week, until last night, when I was alone in the kitchen, and noticed that the coffee pot was still half-full. So she wouldn't make another pot until this morning. I opened up the coffee can, and half buried him in the grounds, next to the scoop. Then I promptly forgot about it.

The office phone rang around 10:00 this morning: "You think you're really funny, don't you?!? I'll get you for this! etc. etc."

Ahahahaha! Nice.

My sister and I once did something similar, but on a larger scale. Literally larger. For Halloween one year, she made a fake "man" by making a four-foot-tall stick frame, dressing it in jeans and a long-sleeved shirt with "Steve" sewn onto the pocket. She stuffed the clothes and topped it off with the world's scariest rubber mask, turning him into Steve, the Fucking Creepiest Dirty Old Man Ever. He was a big hit on Halloween, scared people, yadda-yadda. And then, the fun started.

I opened my bedroom door one early morning, bleary from sleep, to find Steve ogling me.

A few days later, Steve surprised her as she came out of the bathroom after a shower.

Then he ended up in my bed, concealed by my lumpy comforter.

Hidden under sister's loft bed while she was sleeping.

In the shower stall when I was getting ready one morning.

You get the idea, yes? Ah, memories.
