That's the moments where I wish I would still GM in role playing games because then I could sit here and scribble down the statistics for the terrific tyrannosaurus book trap now. And assign a number of skull symbols to it. Three, I think. :)

Oh, sorry. Basically I was saying that the concept of face-eating book dinosaurs appeals to me.

Holy crap, the Alice rabbit hole fall is the coolest pop-up trick I've seen. Nice find.

Alice is kind of old -- I gave Mom one for Christmas or a birthday or something -- but this is the second Japan-based story I've seen on it in less than a month, so maybe they just got a shipment in or something. There's also a pop-up Wizard of Oz in the same vein that's well worth looking up. The farmhouse perched on the foot-high tornado is outstanding.

Looks like Robert Sabuda & Matthew Reinhart recently had an exhibit in Tokyo:

http://robertsabuda.com/appear.asp

...then, after touring around Tokyo, they had an opening in a Barnes & Noble in Newburgh, NY, of all places. (Newburgh's claim to fame was that it was voted the poorest town in the USA about 10 years ago.)

I wish they'd come to Boston!

I got Sabuda's "A Winter's tale" last year, and this year I bought "Castle," which is not exactly his but has his name on the cover. It's really cool!

Are you the one who posted a link to Sabuda's site earlier this year? I checked it out and entered the monthly contest they run, and won an Alice-whose-neck-grows autographed pop-up card. They're doing a contest for a Jungle Book card this month if you are interested.

http://www.robertsabuda.com/ , then click on the Contests tab.

I really should buy one of his books. Might be a good place to spend some Christmas money. The card is a work of art.
