'Raines' episode 1
Mar. 16th, 2007 08:22 amIs anybody else disappointed that the song on the "OMG GREATEST SONGS EVAH!!! :)" mix CD wasn't Spike Jones doing "Cocktails for Two?"
Just me then.
"Hello Muddah Hello Faddah" would also have been acceptable.

"Raines" was kinda....nothing. I won't say disappointing because I didn't have high expectations. Predictable, too. Who didn't figure out his partner was dead almost immediately? And the inevitably comments about him talking to himself. Also, is it just me or did it not make sense that the dead girl didn't just tell him, "oh, so-and-so killed me". I guess that would shorten the ep by about 45 minutes.
Best line was the one about "oh, sure who doesn't accuse some one of molesting their kid. Want some coffee." Or something like that. Can't remember the exact wording.
Yay Johnny Fever!!

Date: 2007-03-16 02:56 pm (UTC)Dead girl couldn't tell him who killed her, because she was entirely imaginary. That was why she changed whenever he learned something new about her. Sort of like the way Tommy deflects when I ask her what the Obitsu factory was like. "Ahh. The factory. What can I say?" "I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE YOU NEVER ANSWER ME!"

Okay, my bad. But then, I was also trying to do the dishes and fix lunch for the next day while watching the show. But, are you sure she was just imaginary? I mean she did want him to give the money to her mom. Or maybe he was just reading into the situation. I'll give Goldblum (or the director) credit: he didn't over play the role, thankfully.

I think that, if we work together, we are smart enough to watch network television.
