I was trying to kill one of those Mysterious Office Fruit Flies*, missed, and double-slapped a, erm, sweater puppy. Right on the nose.

It kinda hurt.

*There is actually a full-blown office legend that the fruit flies originated with a single orange left in a trashcan one weekend many years ago.

With the kinda day I'm having, I really needed to hear something like "sweater puppy". In spite of your acute pain and distress, I'm giggling madly.

I'm horrible, yeah.

It would certainly help if you posted pix of the ointment applying process.

Well, yeah, if no one administers the flamethrower treatment to the single orange, it reaches facehugger stage and you end up with less cleaning personnel and another fruit fly infested office.

In other news, ouch.

That actually explains the sudden downturn in restroom quality we had a few years back.

Sweater puppy!

Man, that's a good one.

Sorry about the pain, though.

And remember! It beats a mammogram, right?

Ow.

Only in the sense that no one's badgering me repeatedly about whether or not I'm wearing deoderant.

We have office gnat-type things! They are said to have originated in my predecessor's supply of seed for her bird feeder. I just let the birds starve, but I do make it a policy not to let people kill the wee gnat-type things in my office, because they are harmless and I like thinking of my office as a tiny ecosystem: me, the gnat-type things, and my peace lily.

The term "sweater puppy" is evoking in my mind images that I find quite disturbing. Think Ann Geddes.
