Came out of the house this morning to find this...


...on the driveway. Yup, that's fresh, shiny blood running down the pavement. Looks like a squirrel took a header onto the cement, and was then removed by a crow.

Cracked his skull open...[removes sunglasses]...like a walnut.

YEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It was a bit of a surprise, and much as I like the yard mammals, I was very grateful to realize that it was not, say, from the toddler next door.

I mean, he'd bleed way more than that.
